Turkey expects 27 million tourists this year

Turkey expects 26-27 million tourists this year, Culture & Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay said. And he added, “nearly 23 million tourist visited Turkey in 2007″.

He said the number of tourists visited Turkey in the first half of this year increased 15 percent over to the same period of last year.

Turkish government would support culture tourism in Anatolia as a developing area.

Turkey’s Ephesus Ancient City at the cover of “VISITEUROPE”

April 6th, 2008 edition of the magazine put Turkey’s Ephesus ancient city at the cover and praised Istanbul’s cultural and historical riches.

The magazine underlined that Istanbul was the European culture capital in 2010.

New York Culture Attache’s office said the magazine would reach 1 million households and would come out in The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and Los Angeles Times.
