A “must be experienced” attraction on holiday in Marmaris is the famous Dalyan Mud Bath . The famous mud baths also called the “Beauty Mud”, not only cleans and tones the skin but also remedies rheumatism and has anti-aging properties. You simply get in the mud pool, get covered by mud, let it dry and remove the mud in a natural clear water sulphur pool at a temperature of around 40 degrees celsius.

If you run your finger down the west coast of Turkey you will come eventually to Marmaris, and, beyond it, to a two-pronged spit of land that juts out into the Aegean Sea and resembles an open mouth all ready to swallow up the tiny Greek island of Simi (Sömbeki)
The upper jaw of the spit is the Reşadiye Peninsula, named after the tiny town of Reşadiye at the far western end. The lower jaw is the Hisarönü Peninsula, named after the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it resort of Hisarönü, but sometimes known as the Loryma Peninsula after the scant remains of the ancient city of Loryma right down at the southern tip. This is one of the more beautiful and unspoilt parts of the Turkish coast, protected (so far) from over-development by its sheer remoteness.

The town of Marmaris is located at the meeting place of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, on the world’s largest natural harbour, surrounded by pine-clad hills.
On the west is Datca peninsula and to the east Koycegiz lake; all year round Marmaris is surrounded by blue and green. The hills running in to the sea and the beautiful bays make Marmaris very special.
